The Ovatian Chair is held for 3 years and is awarded to someone who works in healing, ecology or community work. The traditional robe is green.

Misha and Richard Carder (2001-)

Current joint holders of this post.

Mark Lindsey Earley (1998-2001)

Mark was the second holder of the Ovation Chair who, on top of running a private holistic therapy practice embracing hypno/psychotherapy, massage, spiritual healing and nutrition, worked extensively to promote complementary therapy, inter-faith understanding, ecology and the personal and spiritual development movement in the city.

He was a leading member of the Bath Health Group and, as a community corespondent for the Bath Chronicle newspaper, gave a much-needed voice to many therapists, healers, teachers, speakers and good causes.

On standing down, with the help of Miranda Young and his wife Lian, Mark made a gift to the "chairship" of what has now become the official Ovation robe, made in traditional green fabric and embroidered with the "Snake of Aesculapius", the universal symbol of healing and medicine.

Angie Long (1995-1998)
